Local Law Firm Sponsors Mother’s Day Community Celebration
Over 1,000 people gathered on Sunday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jupiter to celebrate Mother’s Day at an event sponsored by the law firm of Gordon & Doner. All mothers at the event felt extra special on this day, as they celebrated with family and friends.
Following an afternoon mass held in Spanish, local families proceeded to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of food, music, giveaways, and entertainment. A Mariachi band offered nonstop music, while the kids were busy playing in the bounce houses, getting their faces painted, and flocking to the cotton candy machine.
Hispanic cultures are traditionally matriarchal in nature, so mothers occupy a special place of honor every day of the year, but especially on Mother’s Day. "We are honored to celebrate Mother’s Day with St. Peter Catholic Church and the Hispanic community," said Dante Weston, an attorney with Gordon & Doner.
The highlight of the celebration was the sense of family and community support that filled the room. Respecting the sentiment of the day, a special ceremony took place during the celebration to honor the mother Mary.
